THE AARON SIEGEL ENSEMBLE is the group of close collaborators that brings my music alive. The ensemble includes members of the top new music ensembles in the city, musicians that I have been improvising with for years, and some of the most innovative songwriters and indie rock musicians I know.

We have performed together as ensemble at venues around New York City including Roulette Intermedium, Issue Project Room, The Chocolate Factory Theater, Renee Weiller Recital Hall, and as part of the You Are Here Arts festival at Chashama art space in Times Square.

The debut CD of the Aaron Siegel Ensemble, Every Morning a HIstory, was released by Brooklyn-based Peacock Recordings and was praised by Signal to Noise as being “representative of the flowering DIY chamber music scene in Brooklyn.”

The Ensemble is currently performing two programs of music:

1) Science is Only a Sometimes Friend (2009), which is an hourlong piece for 8 glockenspiels. This piece can be performed in concert with organ accompaniment, and in a outdoor performance with public attendees performing on glockenspiels of their own.

2) Preparing the Past (2009), a thirty-minute, three-movement work for two pianists, two glockenspiels and two vibraphones. This piece is complemented by Our Reluctance Is Overstated (2009), for 6 glockenspiels, or selections from the Book of Notions (2008) that features duets for piano and vibraphone.

Other works that can be programmed include:

Every Morning, a History for vibraphone, viola, flute and clarinet
Stray for cello and piano
Under Such Cover for cello, piano and vibraphone
Estuary for vibraphone
A Diminished Thing for piano
