Wait

for string quartet (2004)

Wait is essentially an attempt to access a kind of musical time that is not based on strict meter as much as it is based on the coordination of events. The piece progresses as specific goals for each of the players are achieved.

I have worked for 15 years as a Teaching Artist, Cultural Producer, Education Administrator and Professional Development Facilitator. I am interested in treating performances as opportunities to learn and creating learning situations that feels like authentic artistic experiences. Having worked as a facilitator and consultant with some of the foremost arts education institutions in the United States, I am excited by the opportunities to help artists and institutions develop their platforms for engaging others in learning. --Aaron
